I know that bloggers like information so I’ve added more sites to the left columns. I’m also going to highlight two tools that I think are worth knowing about.
I recently learned about doing a Body Scan and I think it’s a very cool tool that helps you learn more about your body. And, if you don’t know this already about me, I believe strongly that us CIer’s (chronic illness folks) need to know how to hear and respond to our bodies.
Not only is the McCullen Body Scan free, I find the narrator’s voice quite soothing and the directions easy to follow. Several clients have worked with it, and although one found it too long, the others like it a lot. Notice that I’ve linked it here and in the column on the left.
Another and very different site is Cigna’s Manager’s Disability Toolkit. Written for managers, it’s got great stuff for employees also. If you’re employed, you should be prepared and know what this process can look like, even if you never use it.
The California Coalition for Chronic Care is making the vital health care issue a political agenda.    I’ve written about this before — and will again. I don’t live in CA but I think it’s something we should be doing all over the country. Anyone else think so? Got ideas?

Rosalind, I saw your additions to the left side. They look like very good ones, good resources. I especially like the manager’s guide. When I worked for Waldenbooks in San Francisco in the late 1980’s I had to deal with disability issues for a couple of the guys with AIDS or ARC (Aids Related Complex). Waldenbooks had some very good policies and procedures written out to help managers with these sensitive matters but I’m sure not all companies do.

I liked the body scan. It was very relaxing and it helps when you are stressed!
